DESCRIPTION:The Department for Education’s draft guidance on the use of reasonable force and other restrictive interventions in schools is currently out for consultation. Whilst the guidance reinstates the requirement for schools to record and report use of force\, it lacks the focus on rights and prevention that Scottish schools guidance and England’s Mental Health Use of Force statutory guidance.
