SUMMARY:CoP Live: Restraint and Human rights
DESCRIPTION:In the first RRN CoP Live session\, we invite members to join us exploring the misuse of restraint and its implications for human rights. \n\n\n\nRestraint is\, by its nature\, traumatic. It can and does cause harm. While in some exceptional circumstances restraint can be lawful and lifesaving\, we should seek to eliminate its use except to prevent serious and imminent harm. \n\n\n\nJoin with other members of the RRN Community of Practice to find out how the RRN’s new position statement clarifies the charity’s aims and discuss what you can do in your own practice to support these goals. \n\n\n\nThe event will host a panel discussion on the implications of the RRN’s new position statement across sectors. \n\n\n\nThe RRN Members’ Community of Practice (CoP) is an inclusive community for RRN members in which to share resources\, ask questions\, and discuss challenges and solutions towards improving practice. \n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: This event is open only to people with individual RRN membership.
