The Positive and Safe Network

The Restraint Reduction Network is pleased to announce its partnership with the Positive and Safe Network. The Positive and Safe Network was re-established in November 2018 after a question was raised about whether health care providers would be interested in re-establishing the network previously run by Guy Cross and Ben Thomas in the Department of Health. The response was overwhelmingly positive and as a result 44 NHS Trusts and 8 Independent Providers have joined forces to participate in this network.

The network hosts events each quarter in different locations around the country to think together about a variety of topics to share best practice, latest research, and updates from the CQC and other national bodies on work aligned to reducing restrictions. It is open to anyone who shares a vision of reducing restrictive practices and would like to contribute and connect with others. As well as providing a network for the health sector, the network also welcomes people with lived experience, providers from social care and education and members of the Restraint Reduction Network Community of Practice.

If you are an NHS Trust and would like to host a Positive and Safe event, you can find out more about what this involves in this document. Please contact RRN@bild.org.uk to express your interest.
