CoP Live: Restraint and Human rights
24th June, 2026 @ 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm
In the first RRN CoP Live session, we invite members to join us exploring the misuse of restraint and its implications for human rights.
Restraint is, by its nature, traumatic. It can and does cause harm. While in some exceptional circumstances restraint can be lawful and lifesaving, we should seek to eliminate its use except to prevent serious and imminent harm.
Join with other members of the RRN Community of Practice to find out how the RRN’s new position statement clarifies the charity’s aims and discuss what you can do in your own practice to support these goals.
The event will host a panel discussion on the implications of the RRN’s new position statement across sectors.
The RRN Members’ Community of Practice (CoP) is an inclusive community for RRN members in which to share resources, ask questions, and discuss challenges and solutions towards improving practice.
PLEASE NOTE: This event is open only to people with individual RRN membership. If you are an individual member of the RRN you will have received an email with details of how to register to join.
