Top Priority 1
To use the data we collect to reduce and inform restrictive practice in the organisation. Following the appointment of the Quality and Governance lead to put in place a regular review of all restrictive practice, to ensure all learning is captured and that all the tools available to us such as CCTV are being fully utilised.
Measure of Success
That we have a robust governance process in place regarding restrictive practice and that it evidences a reduction in restrictive practices. That all our staff are always thinking and talking about restrictive practice so we know the idea of reducing it is embedded in the culture. That we have a culture of learning and can opening review incidents as a team and be critical friend to each other to review how we can continuously improve.
Top Priority 2
To review the vehicles that we have with people with lived experience to see how we can improve the environment to aid the reduction in the use of restrictive practice. To be innovative and best in class in how we support the individual needs of service users and have numerous strategies available to ensure every journey is as positive as it can be.
Measure of Success
To see a reduction in the use of restrictive practice in the vehicles. To get positive feedback from the service users who use our service and hear about the support our staff gave to help them feel more relaxed and comfortable during the journey they experienced. To see the use of sensory boxes in every vehicles providing service users with a choice of options to support them to feel more relaxed on the journey.
Top Priority 3
To get meaningful feedback and challenge ourselves to think of innovative ways to get feedback in the secure transport sector. To work with our NHS partners to be best in class at getting feedback and using it for improvement and t do a case study or research project to show improvements.
Measure of Success
To be able to do a project based on the feedback and to be able to produce outcomes. To be able to present an abstract at conferences about the innovative and collaborative work EMED has been able to do alongside service users. To see a reduction in restrictive practice due to improving our service through the feedback of service users we have transported or people with lived experience.
