Organisational Membership

We are delighted you are interested in joining the RRN. Our members work to influence and improve practice through their commitment to reducing restrictive practices.

Membership is open to everyone who shares this commitment. This includes people with lived experience, family members, carers, academics, practitioners and professionals working across education, health, social care and forensic settings.

Joining the Restraint Reduction Network is an opportunity to demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to reducing unnecessary and harmful restrictive practices and upholding human rights.

Benefits of Organisational Membership

Membership is completely free and offers a range of benefits. If you join us as an organisation, all your employees will be able to access Restraint Reduction Network conferences and events at a discounted price, giving them the opportunity to learn from sector leaders and network with their peers.

You will also receive regular updates from the Restraint Reduction Network with the latest sector news, guidance, resources and materials, which you will be able to share throughout your organisation to further equip your staff.

Finally, you will also gain exclusive access to the Restraint Reduction Network member logo, which you will be able to use on your organisation’s website and email footers to demonstrate your commitment to reducing restrictive practices.

Who is Organisational Membership for?

Membership is for all organisations who work with people vulnerable to restrictive practices. This includes, but is not limited to organisations working in:

  • Education
  • Health
  • Social care
  • Forensic settings

Join us an Organisational Member

We ask all organisations applying for membership to commit to writing an action plan based on the Six Core Strategies (download the infographic here).

These six strategies were developed through extensive literature reviews and dialogues with experts who have successfully reduced the use of seclusion and restraint in a variety of settings. They are internationally recognised as best practice for organisations who wish to reduce their use of restraint. You can review what you have done so far and identify your top 3 priority actions to be completed in the next 2 years.

You can also watch the webinar here about the Six Core Strategies that will support you to develop an action plan.

How to join

Fill in our Organisational Membership form here and submit your action plan to reduce restrictive practices.

Once you have submitted your action plan, we will review it and let you know when your membership has been approved.

Upon approval, you will receive a Restraint Reduction Network Organisation Member logo™ and have access to all Organisational Member benefits. Furthermore, your top three priorities(only) will be published on our website (we will not share contact info).
