Programme for the Restraint Reduction Network Conference 2025 now live
The keynote speaker programme for The art of the possible: paving the way towards a restraint free future is now live.
We are delighted to share this year’s programme with you, featuring presentations that challenge assumptions and seek to move us toward eliminating unnecessary restraint through strong, trust-building connections.
Join us in Liverpool or online on 13-14 November to explore what’s possible when we come together and work towards meaningful change.
This year’s keynote speakers include:
- Daniel Johnson MSP Safe and included at school: the restraint and seclusion in schools (Scotland) Bill
- Prof. Hel Spandler Beyond restraint: tensions and creative possibilities
- Emma Highfield Shining light on preferred accounts of identity, narrative approaches to restrictive practices
- Stephen Unwin Beautiful lives: how we got learning disabilities so wrong
And there’s more – in the coming weeks, we will be sharing further information on this year’s speakers and details of a wide range of workshops available to delegates.
Hybrid conference
We are delighted to be holding this year’s conference at the Liverpool Hilton City Centre. Conveniently located by Albert Docks, the hotel is surrounded by city landmarks, attractions and a wealth of dining options.
Delegates can also attend the conference online through Cvent Events, allowing attendees to join the conference in the way that works best for them.
We look forward to welcoming you in November for a forward-looking conference centred on the power of relationships and compassion transforming care.
