Join us for Europe’s leading conference focused on reducing reliance on restrictive practices, taking place 3-4 November 2022 in Birmingham and online.
This year’s theme is Working Together to Change Culture: reducing restraint in health, social care and education.
We believe that by working together we – people with lived experience, family carers, practitioners and professionals – can change culture and reduce the use of restrictive practices.
By working together, we can push for a society which respects and protects people’s human rights, embedding a culture of respect across education, health and social care services. We believe that services can and should be safe, dignified and respect people’s autonomy and wellbeing.
Hearing from experts by experience, practitioners and professionals we will debate and share best practice. Through keynotes, panels and workshops, delegates will explore current activity and recent developments seeking to reduce restrictive practices across the health, social care and education sectors.
We’ll explore the work that is being done – and still needs to be done – to tackle social injustices. We will debate and share good practice and discuss how to champion the rights of everyone we work with, so we can work collectively to eliminate the use of unnecessary restrictive practice. The full conference programme will be announced soon.
